CAREER IN BRIEF

Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) has been recognized as one of Malaysia’s best university in producing high quality graduates from the various courses offered. Career and Counselling Club (Kelab Kaunseling dan Kerjaya) is once again for the 13th consecutive years, successfully organizing one of the biggest event in UTM. It’s a win-win event where opportunities are given for the future graduating students, mostly in the field of science, technology, engineering and also in management field to enter the workforce and chances are provided for industries to recruit potential workers.

The main objectives of the event are:

- To create an opportunity for graduates and graduating students to seek a place in the nation workforce.
- To be a platform for the graduates and the graduating students to gain knowledge about the job market
- To help private and public sectors in recruiting suitable students to gain manpower
- To establish and strengthen a network of employment information between UTM and the corporate and private agencies

The benefits to be gained from the event are:

- Provides opportunities for participating companies to give a bird’s eye view on the working world and also to give their profile to the higher educational institution and the society.
- Save cost, time and effort in advertising and recruitment
- To expose UTM students to the actual pre-working environment and giving them a chance to know the opportunities that awaits them

CAREER CARNIVAL ACTIVITIES

EXHIBITION
Its all about introducing and promoting your company to the campus community. You will have the chance to share information such as company’s profile, work benefits, opportunities, company products and potential positions. Furthermore, interacting directly with student will give more satisfaction. Interested candidates will also submit their resume or seek further information at your booth.

INTERVIEW
Interested to employ fresh graduates and making a name list for future candidates? The interview sessions can help and assist industries and organizations in recruiting suitable and capable graduates for employment. It is also the fastest and cheapest way to fill up vacancies in your company because you will have the opportunity to interview as many candidates as time permits.

CAREER TALK
Career Talk is another way to approach the students if you do not have enough time and space to introduce and promote your company. Talks are given by your company’s representatives and at the end of the session, you can organise open discussion with interested students, thus making it a two way interaction. In fact you may bring multimedia presentation to profile your company’s track record.

1. The UTM Career Carnival 2007 will be held on 3rd to 6th March 2007.
2. Each participant will only represent ONE company.
3. Please return the participation form together with a deposit of 50% of your price package by cheque/money order/bank draft in the name of ‘Pejabat Hal Ehwal Pelajar” upon the closing date of entries which is on 3rd February 2007.
4. Full payment should be made 2 weeks before entering the program day (16th February 2007). Failure to comply with this regulation, we have the right for not allowing the company to join the carnival.
5. All details regarding advertisement in the souvenir book also should be submitted before 3rd February 2007. Failure to comply with this regulation, we are not responsible for any consequences. For best result, all information must be in PSD format and in CMYK colour.
6. Organizer has the right to change any of the content of the proposal without further notice.
7. Places are limited. They are given on a first come first serve basis.
